Learner Model's Utilization in the E-Learning Environments

In the field of personalized systems big role is granted to the adaptive elearning environments. The task of these systems is very important and complicated. With their participation the learner gains exactly the knowledge he needs most, and the system adapts to user needs, expectations and his individual features. In this kind of systems information about learner is saved in the learner model also known as the user model and student model. For the system to be able to perceive and analyze user activities correctly, is necessary to define what kind of information about the learner has to be saved. The article gives an overview about already existing learner models, their utilization methods and also it offers their comparison according to various criteria.
